Hello, we are Mara and Dinorah, two creative friends based in Lugano, Switzerland, who share a deep love for working with clay. This passion inspired us to create Sunshine Studio, a space where imagination takes shape through beautiful and unique handmade pieces.
But Sunshine Studio is more than just our creations — it’s a place to learn, share, and celebrate. We host ceramic workshops, cozy gatherings, and personalized events designed around what you need.
Our community also includes young artists such as Clari and Mika, and we collaborate with local honey producers and woodcraft artisans, making Sunshine Studio a vibrant hub where creativity and connections come together.

At Sunshine Studio, our courses are designed with complete flexibility, tailored to your availability and preferences. Whether you’re looking for a creative break, a special celebration, or simply a unique experience, you decide the time and who to share it with.
Workshops are intimate, with 1 to 5 participants, ensuring a warm and personal atmosphere. No prior experience is needed — we guide you step by step, from shaping and decorating to the final firing of your creations in our studio kiln.
Depending on the time of day, we complement the experience with coffee, tea, or light refreshments, making each session both creative and enjoyable.

If you create your own ceramic pieces and haven’t found a place to fire them — we’re here for you! we offer a reliable and creative space for your ceramic projects to come to life.
We provide biscuit and glaze firings (980°C–1250°C) for ceramic artists and hobbyists.

General Conditions

The use of the kiln and firing are scheduled based on availability.

The weight is calculated at the time of delivery.

Make sure your pieces are completely dry before bringing them for the bisque firing.

We strongly suggest you to mark your pieces (by incising or stamping them with your name).

Ensure that the base of the piece is completely clean and free of glaze. The bottom part of the piece, 1 cm from the base, must be painted with only one coat of glaze to prevent it from dripping onto the kiln shelf, which could damage it and compromise the integrity of the piece itself.

Bisque firing will not be carried out for pieces thicker than 2 cm or for solid (non-hollow) pieces.

We require proof that the clay and glaze are compatible with our firing temperatures (1250 °C), and it is mandatory to show the clay label at the time of delivery.

The customer assumes full responsibility for any damage caused by defective clay or glaze. Sunshine Studio Sagl accepts no responsibility for any damage to your pieces that may occur during firing.

We only accept pieces for firing that use lead-free and non-toxic glazes.

Would you like to work independently in our studio? Of course, it’s possible! You can use the studio on selected days. The cost is 20 CHF for the first hour, then 15 CHF per hour afterwards (for sessions shorter than 60 minutes, e.g. 20 minutes, the billing will be rounded up to a full hour).
You will have your own space, all the materials needed to create with clay, a welcoming atmosphere, tea, and coffee.
Firing, clay, and glazes are not included.

Clay modelling course prices:

1 session (3 hours) → 100 CHF per person. Creations will be decorated with engobes the same day.

2 sessions (2.5 hours each) → 150 CHF per person. The first session will be dedicated to creation / modelling, the second session to glazing.
Depending on the time of day, we will offer an aperitif, breakfast, coffee or tea.
